DANCE & ART

Dance and Art
Age 4-7
Students take 1 hour of dance and 1 hour of art. They are ushered from one room to the other and enjoy projects and fun while learning in the arts.
Sign up for one, two or three weeks.
Cost: $75 to Hamilton Wenham School of Dance, $85 to The Art Center per week.

DANCE INTENSIVES

Monday-Friday 9:00AM to 4:00PM
Technique & Choreography Workshop
Age 7-11

Students take classes in ballet, jazz and modern dance. Dancers will be put into groups according to age and level for all their technique classes. They will choreograph dances for a short performance on the last day. The two groups will only have Dance History and snack together. Cost: $180

DANCE WORKSHOPS

Technique and Pointe/Pre-Pointe Workshop
Age 12-16

All students will take classes in ballet, alignment and strength related to current or future pointe work. Students who have completed 1-2 years of pointe will continue to work on pionte. There will be separate pre-pointe classes for those who qualify for pointe work but do not have any experience. If you have not yet worked on pointe DO NOT buy pointe shoes for the workshop. There will also be classes in jazz, modern dance and dance history. Cost: $200

Dance Intensive
Age 13-18
Students will take intensive intermediate and advanced classes in ballet, pre-pointe, pointe, jazz and modern dance. They will study elements of choreography and learn about dance history. There will be stretch and strengthening classes and an alignment class. Students will bring a lunch every day. Must have completed Intermediate/Advanced ballet or higher level or have approval of director.

Cost: $350.

throughout the summer.

A card can be used
by more than one family member.

7:00-8:00 Pointe (must have completed at least one year of pointe)

Tuesday
5:30-6:45 Modern Dance (must have at least 1 year ballet, modern or jazz experience)7:00-8:00 Stretch (no experience necessary--more information below)

Wednesday
5:30-6:45 Jazz (must have at least 1 year ballet, modern or jazz experience)
7:00-8:00 Power Dance for Teens & Adults (more information below)

Thursday
5:30-6:45 Dance Styles (more information below)

Class Descriptions
Power Dance for Teens/Adults: elements of yoga, pilates, stretch, toning & easy-to-do cardio dance patterns. Wear cross-training or running shoes that you do not wear outside. Bring hand weights. No experience necessary.

Stretch: elements of yoga, pilates and modern dance. No experience necessary.

Dance Styles: a different style will be covered each week. Styles include modern, Broadway jazz, contemporary, theatre dance, etc.
 
Private Lessons also available. This can be a good way to gain experience in
order to be placed in a class in the fall if you have little or no dance training.

PLEASE CALL 978-468-2393 to arrange to buy a class card. Cards are kept at the
studio. If you use up your first card, you can buy another throughout the summer.
