DRESS CODE

BALLET

Pink footed tights and any color leotard for Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet I & II, Intro to Ballet and Ballet I. Specific color leotards are required for girls in Ballet II and up. The styles and colors are listed below. Short dance skirts and dance warm-ups are allowed. No baggy shirts or writing on shirts. Hair in a bun for Ballet II and older. Plain T-shirt and sweatpants or black tights for boys.

Leotards for Ballet II and up are Bloch Basic Tank CL5405 for child sizes and Bloch pinch front tank BL5415 for adult sizes.

Ballet II, Ballet III and Ballet IV should buy burgundy with an optional matching skirt by Bloch CR5110.
 
Intermediate Ballet, Intermediate/Advanced and Teen Ballet should buy Royal with an optional matching skirt R5130 by Bloch in adult sizes or the CR5110 in child sizes.

Advanced Ballet and Company should buy black with an optional matching skirt. Advanced classes can choose between the Bloch R5130 , Capezio BX101 (cami with shelf lining) or Capezio BS110 (cami with built-in bra).
 
Dance Sweaters: Form fitting dance sweaters in black are allowed. No camis or other cover-ups are allowed.

Tights should be ballet pink by Body Wrappers. Convertible tights are required for Intermediate and up. Otherwise you can buy footed tights. No seams. No footless tights are allowed.
Footed tights: adult style #A80 and child #C80
Transitional (convertible) tights: adult style #A81 and child #C81
 
Ballet Footwear: Pink ballet slippers for girls; black ballet slippers for boys; any color for creative movement. All ballet slippers should be the Bloch brand in leather with either split sole or full sole. For Ballet II and up the style should be the split sole. Do not buy the slippers with the "V" cut out of the middle of the side pieces.
Please do not buy ballet slippers at Payless Shoes. The soles are cut too long and cannot be fitted properly. Please buy at On Your Toes in Peabody or Patterson's in Burlington .

Ask your teacher for the pointe shoe information sheet if you are studying pointe.
Please have all shoes checked by the teacher before wearing them or putting your name in them.

Hair for ballet should be in a pony tail for Creative Movement through Ballet I and in a bun for Ballet II and up. The bun must be neat and held in place with bobby pins and a hairnet. No "messy buns" are allowed. Stray hairs must be kept in place with barretts, hair clips and/or a black stretchy headband.
 
MODERN DANCE
A leotard must be worn. It can be any color. You should also wear stretch pants or capris. Socks and/or barefoot. No baggy sweatshirts or writing on shirts.

JAZZ
Deej's classes on Tuesday and Wednesday: Leotard (or any dark color), black jazz pants with a slight flair and black shoes (either tie or slip on).

Carol's class on Friday: Leotard (any color) and tan convertible tights and tan tie shoes. Jazz pants or jazz shorts may also be worn.
 
All jazz classes: Hair in a pony tail with black stretch headband to keep stray hairs in place. Dance warm-ups & fitted shirts over leotard are allowed. No baggy sweatshirts or t-shirts. No writing on shirts or shorts.
